ACHIEVE ( Action Communities for Health, Innovation, and EnVironmental changE) fosters collaborative partnerships between local communities and national and state organizations joined in a movement to create healthier places to live, work, learn and play
Five organizations have been selected to collaborate with CDC's Healthy Communities Program in conducting ACHIEVE:
- National Associate of Country and City Health Officials (NACCHO)
- National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD)
- National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA)
- Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE)
To date, the program has funded 306 communities and 50 state health departments. In 2011, 40 community organizations were selected to receive grants out of 149 applicants. Stay tuned for more information on the application process to receive funding in 2012.
