Brad Hall Memorial Scholarship Deadline Today!
Dear NACDD Representatives in the Southern Obesity Summit States,
It is with great pleasure that I share the attached announcement from John Robitscher, NACDD and Camille Miller, THI. To commemorate Brad Hall’s life and legacy in chronic disease prevention, NACDD is offering scholarships for up to 10 chronic disease directors to attend the 5th Annual Southern Obesity Summit in New Orleans, October 2-5, 2011.
Many of you had the opportunity to work closely with Brad in numerous initiatives within NACDD and throughout the public health system. The Southern Obesity Summit in Atlanta was where I first got to know him. Over the past year, Southern Obesity Summit Planning Committee benefitted greatly from Brad’s knowledge, ingenuity and positive spirit. His passing on August 11, 2011 left a great void in our hearts.
Like Brad, you are all very special leaders in your states at a time when public health is challenged on all fronts. We count on your leadership in developing, implementing and sharing solutions to the obesity epidemic in the South. We need you to help us create strong linkages with community practitioners and policy leaders. Hopefully, these scholarships will make it possible for you to attend the conference.
We would love for you to join us in New Orleans!
