AF Stat™: A Call to Action for Atrial Fibrillation
(AF Stat) is a collaboration of healthcare leaders and organizations working to improve the health and well-being of people affected by atrial fibrillation (AFib).
AF Stat is raising awareness of AFib as a complex, costly, progressive and often debilitating disease. It also is calling for and helping promote a change in attitudes and behaviors to enhance AFib understanding, diagnosis and management.
Guiding the AF Stat efforts are Medical Chair, Dr. Eric N. Prystowsky, Health Policy Advisor Senator Bill Frist, MD, and Public Health Advisor, the National Forum for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention. Additionally, AF Stat engaged a diverse group of more than 24 organizations as part of a working group, that are sharing their input, perspective and expertise to help establish AFib on the national health agenda. The first major accomplishment of AF Stat, generated from the collective insights of the working group, is the AF Stat Call to Action for Atrial Fibrillation, which identifies the critical barriers that need to be addressed and provides action steps to achieve better AFib management.
