Healthy Aging Grand Rounds

The NACDD Healthy Aging Council conducts Grand Rounds Conference Calls several times per year. Information about Grand Rounds calls, including topic, presenter, date, time and dial-in information, is sent via email to all Healthy Aging Council members prior to each scheduled call.

May is Older Americans Month

As part of Older Americans Month, CDC’s Healthy Aging Program Healthy Aging Program, Aging and Health Work Group and the AI/AN/NH Workgroup present:
Advanced Care Planning and Emergency Preparedness among American Indian and Alaska Native Elders

The presentation provides an examination of critical areas important to American Indian and Alaska Native elders. The first segment of this presentation focuses on successful programs that provide advanced care planning and palliative care in Indian Country, despite the persistent myths that planning in this population is an insurmountable barrier. The second segment focuses on the application of Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and its relevance to emergency preparedness planning for Native elders.
